CITY HALL
The City Hall or "Stadshuset" was built in the
beginning of the 20th century. It's tower is 106 metres high. It is
situated on the isle of KUNGSHOLMEN. There are offices, conference
rooms and banquette halls inside the building. The capital of Sweden is
ruled from this building as the politicians and servicemen have their
headquarters here. Inside The City Hall you can find five divisions:
The Blue Hall
The Council Chamber
The Oval Hall
The Gallery of the Prince
The Golden Hall
In The Oval Hall one can see civil weddings that take place here every
Saturday between 14.00 and 16.00.
The Golden Hall contains over 18,000,000 mosaic pieces made of glass
and gold.
One can get up to the Tower by climbing on 365 stairs. There are two
small exposisions on the way up. It cost 20 Kr to visit the Tower.
The City Hall of Stockholm is open to the public daily between 10.00,
12.00 and 14.00. There are only guided tours, so don't miss the time of
the beginning. Most of the guided tours in the City Hall are in Swedish
or English. Sometimes there are guide tours in Chinese, Italian,
German, Spanish and French. It is possible to book a private guide.

There is a souvenir shop inside
the building of the City Hall.
Admission costs 60 Kr. A fee for
children is 30 Kr (children under the
age of 12 can enter free of charge).
