THE ROYAL PALACE
"Kungliga Slottet" or The Royal Palace of
Stockholm is situated in the oldest part of the town – on the isle of
Stadsholmen. The huge wooden palace of the dynasty of Gustav Vasa was
situated on this place. Unfortunately, it was burnt down in 1697.
The Swedish monarchy is one of the oldest in the world. Sweden has had
a king for more than one thousand years.
The building is the largest among inhabited Royal Palaces in the whole
world. It is fascinating with its 608 rooms. There the official
residence of the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf is situated. It makes
the Palace one of the most important attractions in the capital of
Sweden.
The hole complex of attractions of The Royal Palace includes also The
Royal Armoury - "Livrustkammaren". It is a museum which is situated
right under the buildning. The collection of the Royal Armoury includes
armours, weapon, carriages and military clothes dating back to the 16th
