THE ROYAL PALACE

"Kungliga Slottet" or The Royal Palace of Stockholm is situated in the oldest part of the town – on the isle of Stadsholmen. The huge wooden palace of the dynasty of Gustav Vasa was situated on this place. Unfortunately, it was burnt down in 1697.
The Swedish monarchy is one of the oldest in the world. Sweden has had a king for more than one thousand years.
The building is the largest among inhabited Royal Palaces in the whole world. It is fascinating with its 608 rooms. There the official residence of the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf is situated. It makes the Palace one of the most important attractions in the capital of Sweden.
The hole complex of attractions of The Royal Palace includes also The Royal Armoury - "Livrustkammaren". It is a museum which is situated right under the buildning. The collection of the Royal Armoury includes armours, weapon, carriages and military clothes dating back to the 16th century.

Feb-14 May: Tues-Sun 12:00-15:00
Guided tours are held daily at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. Advance booking is only necessary for groups.

Admission fee - 90 Kr (children: 35 Kr).
